Welcome to the home of the MAMS Cricket Academy

From 6th to 16th June (2025), a contingent of students from Lawrence School, Sanawar embarked on an enriching 10-day tour of the United Kingdom. This meticulously planned excursion was designed to provide students with a unique blend of sporting, cultural, and social experiences.

The tour encompassed a series of cricket matches against top UK cricketing schools and clubs, including Dulwich Cricket Club, Merchant Taylors' School, Sevenoaks School, Stowe School Forest School, and Lingfield School.

These matches not only showcased the cricketing prowess of our students but also fostered camaraderie and sportsmanship. The students demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork, and dedication, making the tour a resounding success.

Visits to two of the UK's most prestigious educational institutions, Eton School and St. Edward's School, were also a highlight of the tour. Both schools extended a warm welcome, providing comprehensive walking tours and showcasing their state-of-the-art facilities. The students were impressed by the rich history, academic excellence, and commitment to holistic development that these institutions embody.

One of the tour's most thrilling experiences was watching the World Test Championship finals between Australia and South Africa at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground. The students witnessed South Africa's historic victory, marking their first-ever WTC title. The electric atmosphere, exceptional skill on display, and the significance of the occasion made it an unforgettable experience for all.

The students also visited the Natural History Museum, where they discovered fascinating cientific facts and marvels. The museum's vast collections and interactive exhibits sparked their curiosity, encouraging them to explore the wonders of the natural world.

During their visit to the Houses of Parliament, the students gained valuable insight into the British political system and its rich history. They witnessed how the democratic process and debates / discussions shape the nation's policies and have had a significant influence in the formulation of the Indian Constitution and Parliamentary Democratic systems. This experience provided a unique perspective on governance and civic engagement.

The tour also included visits to London's most iconic landmarks, such as Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, the Big Ben Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and other notable sites. The students immersed themselves in the city's vibrant atmosphere, absorbing its rich history, cultural diversity, and architectural splendor.

Throughout the tour, the students were treated with exceptional kindness and hospitality by their hosts. Delicious lunches and high teas were served, making the students feel valued and appreciated. These gestures of warmth and generosity contributed significantly to the tour's success.

The 10-day UK tour was a resounding success, providing The Lawrence School, Sanawar students with a unique blend of sporting, cultural, and social experiences. The tour not only honed their cricketing skills but also broadened their perspectives, fostering personal growth, confidence building and all-round excellence. The memories and lessons learned during this tour will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on their lives.
